Friday's second flopper
session had Ryan Hodgson leading off with a single.
Hodgson improved with a 5.816
at 248.84 but it was only good for the #14 spot. Bottom half
of the field was unfamiliar territory for the Pacemaker car.

The first pair was Matt
Bynum and Kris Krabill who were both trying to improve.
Bynum's 5.76 at 250.50 was good
but not better than his Q1 5.695. Krabill shut off to a 6.87
but he had his earlier 5.910 in the bank.
Justin Taylor's BUG Amanda
Haven looking all patriotic.
Taylor, who was already
in, was paired with Danny Gerber who was not.

It's not an Olympic event
but if synchronized tire shake was, this would be a 10.
Forget the times, they
will be redacted to protect the guilty.

Next out was the racers
racer Rian Konno and everybody's problem child, Billy Morris.
This was one hell of a drag race.
Both improved with Konno carding a 5.766 at 248.98 with Morris
welded to his door panel with a 5.775 at 238.72. Good for #6
and #7 respectively.
Next
pair featured Dan Horan Jr. and Cory Lee.

Looking like the big dog he is,
Horan put up another big number, his 5.76 at 258.27 was just
shy of his Q1 5.738 at 257.92. He stayed #4. As for Lee, his
6.012 at 244.12 left him clinging to the #14 spot.
And the hits kept on
coming. Out next was Jerry Espeseth and title contender Jeff
Arend.
Arend was consistent but not
better. His 5.79 at 244.39 was a tick off his earlier 5.776 at
252.05 which left him #8. Espeseth followed suit running a 5.86
at 245.90 which did not improve on his Q1 5.791 at 249.39.
Don't even ask 'cause
I have no clue.
Next pair through the
waterbox was James Day and Mike Halstead.
Day stopped the clocks with a
5.73 at 254.14 which did not improve on his Q1 5.690. Halstead
was done early and stayed #18.
The next pair was out
was Stephen Densham and Tony Jurado.
Jurado squared the tires
before the tree.
Densham carded a 5.75 at 251.72
which was just a tick slower than his Q1 5.739. He remained #5
for the day. Jurado remained
#9 with his earlier 5.780 at 250.00.
The Hooters BUGs where out again
to aid Brad Thompson (his wife is one of them). In the other
lane was Jeff Gregory from Elk Grove CA, in his "Madness"
'71 Camaro out for its first attempt.

Gregory ran an abbreviated 6.053
at 227.11 which put him on the bubble. Thompson had issues coasting
to a 8.29 at 110 remaining #17.
The final two cars for
the session were Bill Windham and Bobby Cottrell.

Once again neither car improved
over Q1. Arend stayed #2 with his 5.714 while Hale shut off after
tire shake and ended up #4 with his earlier 5.736.
Cottrell remained the picture
of consistency running a 5.68 at 256.50 to go with his Q1 5.635
at 259.61 which kept him #1. Windham improved with a 6.218 at
227.77 but that still left him in the #19 spot with one shot
left.
