THIRD QUALIFYING SESSION - SATURDAY

First pair out for the final session was Pete Wittenberg and Bret Williamson.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wittenberg's 6.04 at 190.89 did not improve his earlier 5.843 so he remained #5. Williamson improved with a 5.934 at 248.43 to earn the #6 spot.

Next pair featured Jim Murphy and Rick McGee.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Murphy had the chutes out before the first timing light and carded a 5.92 at 198.40 while McGee started eating pistons at the 1000' mark and slowed to a 5.95 at 197.51. Murphy didn't improve and ended up #2. McGee still had his best run of qualifying and landed in the #7 hole.

Next up for their last chance to shuffle the deck were Adam Sorokin and Mendy Fry.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sorokin improved a bunch with a 5.738 at 239.02 moving him up to #4. Fry shut off very early and coasted to a 11.19. Sitting #8 with a 6.027 and drawing Bartone in round one there were not a lot of high hopes for Sunday. Surprise!

Up for their last chance to get into the show and bump Fry were Paul Ruskowski and Brendan Murry. Both cars were capable of running better than 6.02.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ruskowski had the number going until he shut off early to a 6.68 at 175.96. Murry lost his second engine of the weekend and coasted to a 9.82. Neither car was able to bump the High Speed car and the field was set.

The last pair pitted Tony Bartone and Dusty Green.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bartone went to the top with a 5.635 at 231.16 while Green ran a nice 5.78 at 256.21 but did not improve on his earlier 5.735 which put him #3.

QUALIFYING SESSION TWO - SATURDAY

 

The first pair out the second and final session was Jeff Arend in the Black Sunshine entry and James Valencia.

 

 

 

Arend was shut off leaving Valencia to single.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Valencia ran a 6.472 at 180.09 on the 6.00 index to qualify #6.

Up next were Brett Henry and Jim Holtz.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Holtz carded a 5.97 at 217.98 which was too quick leaving him #14 with his earlier 12.174. Henry limped through with a 12.697 putting him #15.

Next through the waterbox were Ron Hope and Nick Davies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Davies moved up to the #4 spot with a 6.349 while Hope's 6.776 landed him #9.

Up next was Kurt Cruise and Chris Bennett .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bennett moved into the #11 spot with a 6.964 while Cruise ran 7.57 at 180.01 but it was thrown out due to putting oil on the track.

Up next was Rodney Flournoy and Tom Padilla.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Flournoy carded a 6.71 at 203 which did not improve on his Q1 6.300, positioning him #2 in the 16 car show. Padilla qualified #12 with a 7.579.

Next up was Keith Wilson and Rob Winefsey.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wilson improved with a 6.433 putting him #5 while Winefsey also moved up with a 6.549 which was good for #7.

The next to last pair featured Steve Dickerman and James Generalao Jr.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dickerman posted a 6.867 which was good for #10 but Generalao made a big jump into the #3 hole with a 6.320.

Wrapping up session two was Bryan Hall and ?????

 

 

 

???? had a fuel leak from the hit and clicked it before the tree.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hall ran a clean 6.573 at 213.04 that landed him #8.
